Open to individuals who are 18 years of age or older and can attend MeasureCamp. Employees of HM Land Registry and MeasureEvents Ltd judges cannot enter.
HOW TO ENTER
The competition entry period begins at 4pm on Monday 30 July and ends at 4pm on Monday 10 September. To enter please email your entry, tweet a link or send a link to download. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The are no limits to the number of entries an individual can send. All entries must be received by 4pm on Monday 10 September.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
Entrants assume all risk of lost, late, misdirected, incomplete or unintelligible entries.
The Sponsor’s (or its contractor’s) clock shall be deemed the official clock for all phases of the competition, and entrant’s proof of a submission does not constitute proof of receipt by the Sponsor. The Sponsor is not responsible for (i) lost, misdirected, late, incomplete, or unintelligible entries or for inaccurate entry information, whether caused by entrant or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in the competition, or by any technical or human error that may occur in the processing of entries; or (ii) any printing, production, human or typographical errors in any materials associated with the competition.
The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole and unfettered discretion to disqualify at any time libellous, disparaging, infringing, unlawful or other inappropriate content or subject matter (as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion).
Entrants must be happy to have their work published and usage rights to HM Land Registry and MeasureEvents Ltd. The Sponsor will of course credit the entrant that they are using their work.
The work submitted must be your own work. If you need permission to submit the work by any other party, including those you work for, please seek that permission. HM Land Registry and MeasureEvents Ltd cannot be held responsible to seek that permission. Do not use data in your visualisation that you do not have permission to use or rights to publish.
The entries will be judged by members of HM Land Registry’s data and communications teams and independent impartial members of the MeasureCamp organising committee. We will explain the choices and why we chose certain visualisations to win the prizes.
• Red Letter Day vouchers for a value of £310 will be given to the winner. This should be enough to buy something great. All travel and extra expenses will be up to the winner to provide. There is no monetary alternative to this prize and this can not be sold or exchanged. The GX9 camera to be presented at MeasureCamp 13. There is no monetary alternative to this prize.
• Amazon Echo 2 is the second prize. There is no monetary alternative to this prize.
• Amazon vouchers are the third prize. There is no monetary alternative to this prize.
• Each prize winner will be responsible for paying all costs and expenses related to the applicable prize(s) that are not specifically mentioned, including, but not limited to, travel costs, and any other expenses that might reasonably be incurred by the winner in receiving or using the prize, such as travel to the site of the balloon ride.
GRANT OF RIGHTS
By submitting your data visualisation entry you give MeasureEvents Ltd (MeasureCamp) and HM Land Registry the right to the visualisation and the right to use it on websites, for publicity and promotional purposes and in press releases.
WAIVER OF LIABILITY
Neither the Sponsor nor the Prize Provider will be responsible or liable for: (i) any failure to receive entries due to transmission failures or other conditions beyond their reasonable control; (ii) any late, lost, misrouted, garbled or distorted or damaged transmissions or entries.
The winner of the red letter day chooses their own experience and at their own risk. It is up to the individual to check all health and safety and any appropriate insurance with the supplier Red Letter Days.
By entering the competition you release the Sponsor and the Prize Provider from any liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the competition or with the acceptance, possession or use of any prize, except as prohibited by law.
