MeasureCamp Update
Six weeks on from MeasureCamp #3 and we are already starting to plan for the next one. Thanks for the people who replied to my previous request for feedback, it was much appreciated. Given this feedback, the current structure for MeasureCamp #4 is likely to be:
- Single day event only
- Held on a Sat and one of 8th, 15th or 22nd Mar
- Increasing capacity of MeasureCamp from 140 people to between 180 and 200
- Moving to a new and bigger venue
- Remaining a free event to attend
- Arranging paid training workshops on the Friday prior to MeasureCamp
I just need to find a venue and we can then confirm that date. As soon as that is done, we will be contacting potential sponsors so they are aware of costs and benefits and can plan that into their budgets.
If it all sounds too far away, don’t forget MeasureBowling Europe is happening on the 14th Nov. It doesn’t matter which city you are in, we are there too. Check out www.measurebowling.org for a full list of cities. If you have colleagues around Europe, please forward this on so they can attend their local event.
Requests of the Community
Sponsorship
With the move to a larger venue, we may be able to offer sponsors more in terms of a display space. If we end up at a paid venue, we will need be rework the sponsorship pack to raise the money required to pay for that space. Any companies interested in being involved should contact me at peter@measurecamp.org and I will provide a sponsor pack as soon as it is defined.
Potential Venues
If anyone can suggest or offer a venue – company office space that is free on a Saturday – please contact me asap. MeasureCamp works best when we can keep the informal atmosphere and taking advantage of a free venue would help in maintaining that.
Paid Workshops
The feedback has been very positive that running paid workshops that meet a skill gap for digital analysts at a fair price would be of value to the community. The skill gap is not Google Analytics 101 (or not only that) but advanced features of GA, SiteCatalyst, Webtrends. Also for related tools for tag management, testing, voice of customer, etc. Even non analytical skills around project management and presentations.
My gut feel on fair price is somewhere around the £350 for a full day rate. Maybe £200 for half day sessions. Holding these workshops the day prior to MeasureCamp makes it easier for people coming to London anyway. The request – let me know any topics you think a training workshop would be appropriate for.
Next Steps
My key tasks are to find a venue, decide a date and talk to potential sponsors. The next update will be to confirm that date and announce when we will start releasing tickets. In the meantime, see you on the lanes…
