This session is for anyone who uses Google Analytics to drive change, as part of their job.
Please note this session is running twice on the same day it is not a whole day session.
You might work in marketing, tech or the UX team, but there’s a useful tip here that will improve your insights and productivity. In terms of experience level, you should be very familiar with using the Google Analytics UI and reporting engine – it helps hugely if you understand things like filters, advanced segments and custom reporting.
This is for experienced GA analysts or practitioners– who are working with client configurations or their own sites on a regular basis. We expect you’ll need a couple of years’ experience working with GA, GTM and managing configurations.
Craig & Charles combined, have nearly 30 years of experience fixing, configuring and improving hundreds of Google Analytics setups. All their work is based around outcomes – removing confusion, pollution and bias from these companies by making reports simpler, clearer and more useful for their teams. Over the last two years, they’ve deduced the easiest and most powerful ways to massively increase the organisational value you get out of Google Analytics. They’ve asked their favourite analytics practitioners to contribute suggestions, to provide you with a comprehensive set of power-ups: During the workshop, you’ll learn the best ways to improve your reporting, clean up your data, automate common and boring tasks and create simple and actionable dashboards or reports. You’ll learn the difference between companies that have analytics installed and those that actually manage to get simple, accurate and insightful data. If you want to close this gap, these tips will transform how you use reports, where you go for answers and how fast you get them. This session includes all the materials you’ll need to do this back at the office.
You’ll leave with custom reports, templates, excel sheets, articles and further reading so you have everything you need to massively power up GA within your company.
Craig has been hacking UX, Analytics, AB Testing and Research Toolkits for over 12 years, to get better outcomes for companies like Google, Amazon, Spotify, Eurostar, Lego, Asos and Red Bull. He’s really hacked off at how badly Google Analytics is configured and is on a mission to increase awareness of this issue and get it fixed. You can find him tweeting stuff or arguing with people as @optimiseordie or just grab him at Measurecamp”
Charles has been fixing and configuring analytics systems for over 23 years and helps organisations like Disney, Citibank, M&M Direct and Mothercare to ensure they have actionable, clean and useful data. Over that period he’s built up a massive checklist of every way to break Google Analytics and lots of useful tips to enrich your data. He’s always tweeting analytics, data and news @charlesmeaden. www.digitalnation.co.uk”
