It’s all about the Community
10 days to go until MeasureCamp and it is shaping up nicely. Tickets are sold out, food & shirts are organised, people are discussing what they want to discuss, I haven’t started to panic yet… So what needs to be done in the next week and a half?
MeasureCamp is all about the community and everyone attending the event is expected to contribute (along with learning a lot themselves). There are spaces for 47 sessions and so we need over a third of attendees prepared to give a presentation or lead a discussion. It can be cutting edge or simply sharing knowledge others won’t know. While the big topics will all be there, I also expect someone to run a Google Analytics 101 session, another one for Google Tag Manager. It would be great to have workshops on
- using key tools – survey, testing, QA, etc
- general analytics skills like designing reports, using Excel, defining KPIs
- softer skills such as presentations, managing expectations, creating templates/processes.
So please, stop for a minute, forget what you what to learn at MeasureCamp – what can you share with the rest of the community? It doesn’t have to be a formal presentation, it can be an informal discussion with half a dozen others. It doesn’t have to be advanced, I can guarantee there are others with less knowledge than you on your topic. We are publishing session descriptions on the website so please tell us what you plan to discuss.
If you only want to speak for five minutes, we may be bringing back the Five for Five. Five people, five topics, five minutes each. Contact me if interested in that.
For everyone just not confident enough (yet) to run a session, can you help us out in some other way on the day? Help us set up the rooms, organise during the breaks or to clean up. I can’t emphasise enough that we are all volunteers (and really want to get to as many sessions as possible ourselves). If everyone chips in, the work gets spread around and we can all enjoy the day more.
We are expecting another sold out crowd of 140 analytics practitioners. My apologies to everyone who has missed out, we just can’t fit more people into the venue. There will be a new venue next time and we aim to increase capacity to 250 people. If you have a ticket and cannot make it, please let us know asap so we can pass the ticket on to someone on the waitlist.
